Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou launches easyshop.com in Greece

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou is expanding into e-commerce with easyshop.com, aiming to offer retailers and consumers worldwide a new approach to online shopping.

The e-commerce platform has launched in 21 European countries, including Greece. It does not hold stock or sell its own products, ensuring that it does not compete with the retailers on its platform. According to its management, easyshop.com aims to compete with Amazon.

Access to 21 markets

The platform brings together products across multiple categories from independent retailers, focusing on competitive prices, a simple shopping experience and customer rewards. At the same time, it offers businesses a partnership model designed to support their growth.

Through easyshop.com, businesses can sell in 21 markets using a single account, with VAT calculated automatically. Hundreds of retailers are already making sales, while the platform continues to onboard new sellers ahead of Black Friday and Christmas.

For consumers, easyShop brings together millions of products from trusted retailers on a single platform. Its offering includes competitive prices, free delivery on millions of products, rewards on every purchase, flexible payment options and verified reviews.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, creator and owner of the easy family of brands, said: “Competition is good for both consumers and businesses. No market benefits when everyone feels they have only one option. easyShop combines the values that the easy brand has always stood for – simplicity, affordability and choice – with an operating model designed to help retailers grow rather than compete with them.”

Single account

Using a single account, retailers can sell their products in any of the 21 markets served by the platform, with VAT calculated automatically.

They do not need to establish a company in each country, making international expansion easier for businesses for which the cost and complexity of maintaining a local presence have previously been a barrier.

The technology infrastructure and operations behind easyShop are provided by OnCommerce, the company behind the OnBuy platform and the new online marketplace Comet, which is set to launch shortly.
