EFA Group targets Euronext listing within two years, announces new €6m investment

EFA GROUP and MyDefence join forces to develop integrated Counter-UAS capabilities

EFA Group, owned by Christian Hadjiminas, is preparing to list the group on a stock market within the Euronext network as part of its growth and expansion strategy.

It has not yet been determined which stock market is being considered for the listing or where Euronext Athens ranks among the preferred options. EFA Group is an ecosystem of companies focused on defence and aerospace, with the aim of developing defence solutions in Greece. It concentrates on defence technology through manufacturing activities and by harnessing the expertise of Greek engineers, as well as through acquisitions and partnerships, with a view to meeting the modern defence needs of Greece and international markets.

Over the past 30 years, the group has evolved to encompass four business areas. The first covers Unmanned and Autonomous Solutions; the second focuses on Mission Systems, Simulations and Training; the third concerns Integrated Services; and the fourth covers Sensors and Targeting, serving as an incubator for new technologies.

According to management, the aim is to create an ecosystem that will enable Greece, first and foremost, to achieve self-sufficiency in technology and defence equipment, both in product development and in their wider maintenance and support.

New €6m investment focuses on artificial intelligence and innovation

As part of this strategy, the group is investing €6 million in new facilities to house and support a specialised unit focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and its defence applications.

The project involves a new 800 sq m building on a plot opposite the company’s headquarters in Neo Psychiko. It houses STHENOS AI and the Hellenic Association of Entrepreneurs. The facility currently employs 26 people, with the aim of increasing the workforce to 80 by March 2027.

Speaking at the inauguration of a building at Alexandria Tech Campus, the new EFA Group investment, Hadjiminas highlighted the rapid development of AI. He said the group aimed to develop infrastructure and AI solutions for defence and dual-use applications. A key prerequisite for this activity, he stressed, was that control over data and computing power should remain in Greek hands.

As Hadjiminas said, “the keys must be in Greek hands” — Greek hands must be able to switch the country’s systems on and off.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening entrepreneurship, industry and innovation, arguing that innovation delivers value when it reaches the real economy.

The permanent presence of the Hellenic Association of Entrepreneurs in EFA Group’s new building will help ensure long-term support for the association’s work.

Hadjiminas concluded: “Alexandria gave us a beacon; today, we are lighting a light directly opposite the previous one.”
