Europe needs cooperation among national defence companies

EFA Group is focusing on defence technology through its manufacturing activities and by harnessing Greek engineers, both men and women, as well as through acquisitions and partnerships, with the aim of meeting the evolving defence needs of Greece and international markets.

As Dr Grigoris Koutsogiannis, CEO of EFA Group, told Naftemporiki, the goal is “to create a competitive ecosystem that enables Greece, first and foremost, to be self-sufficient in defence technology and equipment, both in the production and maintenance of defence products, while also becoming an active exporter in the defence sector.”

Focusing on defence needs internationally, Koutsogiannis stressed that Europe in particular is now in a race to close its technological gap and build the production capacity needed to strengthen its defence. What Europe needs most, however, is cooperation among national defence companies, he stressed.
