French frigate Amiral Louzeau bears a Greek signature
Salamis Shipyards described the launch of the second FDI frigate for the French Navy, “Amiral Louzeau,” as a particularly significant development for the Greek shipbuilding industry, noting that Greek industry participated in the program through the fabrication of ship sections in Greece.
In a social media post, Salamis Shipyards emphasized that this marks the first time a vessel belonging to a foreign navy incorporates sections constructed at a Greek shipyard, describing it as a milestone that highlights the capabilities of the domestic industry to participate in complex, high-technology naval and defense programs.
As noted in the statement, participation in the FDI frigate program demonstrates both the technical expertise and production capabilities of the Greek shipbuilding industry, as well as its ability to cooperate with major international defense groups.
One of the most important European defense programs in the field of advanced naval vessels
Salamis Shipyards also expressed its gratitude to France’s Naval Group for its trust and cooperation on the project, underlining that it remains committed to strengthening the international presence of the Greek shipbuilding industry.
The FDI frigate program is regarded as one of the most significant European defense programs in the field of advanced warships, with the participation of Greek companies viewed by the market as a development of particular importance for enhancing the domestic defense industry and the country’s export capabilities.
