Greece is exceeding our highest expectations – The US will always be by its side

The US Ambassador to Athens, Kimberly Guilfoyle, spoke highly of Greece during an interview with Breitbart journalist Matthew Boyle, stressing that the country is more than just a conventional ally of the United States.

The US ambassador praised Greece’s long-standing contribution to military cooperation, education, and investment, emphasizing that, despite the size of its economy, the country demonstrates consistency. “Greece has always exceeded our highest expectations – in military cooperation, education, investments, despite the fact that it is a small economy,” she said.

Close cooperation with the Greek government

The US ambassador appeared particularly satisfied with the level of contacts with the Greek political leadership. As she said, she has regular meetings — even three or four times — with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, noting that “his door is always open,” while adding that she has almost daily cooperation with Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou.

The ambassador emphasized that Greece is demonstrating in practice that it wishes to be a strategic partner of the United States and that it honors the bilateral relationship.

“The United States will always stand by Greece, an amazing country, where democracy was born,” she concluded.
