Group revenues rise – Steady performance in Greece
Vodafone Greece reported marginally lower revenue, down 0.7%, and a 24.8% increase in EBITDAaL for the financial year April 2025 – March 2026.
According to results released yesterday by Vodafone Group, revenue at its Greek subsidiary stood at 1.06 billion euros, compared with 1.068 billion euros in the previous year, while EBITDAaL rose to 196 million euros from 157 million euros, a performance attributed to organic growth and more efficient cost management. Growth was driven primarily by strong performance in core telecommunications services and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) projects for both the private and public sectors, while results were also affected by the different timing of profit recognition from public-sector projects.
Investments in fixed-line and mobile telecommunications during the period amounted to 250 million euros. Population coverage of the 5G network increased to 96% from 94%, while FTTH (fiber-to-the-home/business) coverage now reaches 550,000 households and businesses.
Vodafone recorded a 10.5% increase in mobile contract penetration and an 8.1% rise in ARPU (average revenue per user), to 10.7 euros. Mobile subscribers totaled 3.931 million at the end of March, down 8%, mainly due to the rationalisation of the prepaid subscriber base.
In fixed-line telephony, the decline in the subscriber base continued. At the end of the reporting period, subscribers stood at 903,000 compared with 917,000 a year earlier.
At Group level, Vodafone reported an 8% increase in revenue to 40.5 billion euros, driven by strong growth in service revenues and the consolidation of Three UK, partially offset by foreign exchange movements, while EBITDAaL increased 3.8% to 11.4 billion euros. Operating profit reached 2.8 billion euros, compared with losses of 0.4 billion euros in the previous year.
Among other remarks, Margherita Della Valle stated that the Group returned to revenue growth in Germany, while performance in Africa and Turkey remained strong. At the same time, the initial successes from the merger of Vodafone UK and Three UK have strengthened confidence in the prospects of the new entity.
