Nafplio in the spotlight for luxury yachting
Nafplio welcomed the international elite of yachting as the 11th Mediterranean Yacht Show opened its doors on Saturday, reaffirming Greece’s role as a leading destination for luxury yacht charters and showcasing the country’s maritime tourism product as a global benchmark.
From May 2 to 6, 2026, the historic port of Nafplio is transformed into an impressive “showroom” for the international yachting market. Dozens of luxury crewed yachts are arriving in the city, attracting brokers, industry professionals and decision-makers from around the world. The event, organized by the Greek Yachting Association with the support of local authorities and under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Tourism, has now established itself as the world’s largest exhibition of crewed professional leisure yachts.
This is not merely an exhibition, as important deals are struck, partnerships are forged and future trends in luxury yachting take shape.
Record participation and strong international interest
MEDYS continues its upward trajectory, building on an already impressive base. At the previous edition, 115 yachts—covering a total of 3.7 kilometers of port space—participated, while dozens more remained on a waiting list due to limited capacity. More than 800 professionals from 30 countries attended, confirming that Greek yachting is a strong player in global competition.
This year’s edition is expected to reach similar—if not higher—levels, with increased registrations and strong interest from the global charter market.
A showcase for Greece’s maritime tourism product
The significance of MEDYS goes beyond that of a trade exhibition. It serves as a key platform for promoting Greece as a premium yachting destination, offering international brokers the opportunity to experience fleets, crews and services firsthand.
At the same time, it brings together companies, suppliers and professionals operating across the yachting ecosystem—from hospitality services to specialized products.
In other words, Nafplio becomes, for five days, the point where Greece’s maritime economy meets international demand.
