Capital Ship Management Corp., owned by Evangelos Marinakis, received the newly built tanker M/T “Aristotelis II”, a 307,000 dwt VLCC, constructed at Hengli Heavy Industries shipyards in China.

It is a modern, high-standard crude oil tanker, designed to exceed current international environmental requirements and enhance the group’s sustainable development strategy.

As highlighted, the ship carries the ECO LR environmental certification with EEDI-3, P and EAL notations, as well as the LR NAV1 designation for increased navigation safety. It also features a multitude of energy-efficient technologies, such as advanced hydrodynamic systems and energy saving devices, which contribute to reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The “Aristotelis II” is also designed with the prospect of conversion to LNG combustion, bearing the fuel gas-ready GR(NG,A) designation, an element that enhances compliance with future decarbonization regulations. To comply with SOx regulations, an open-loop exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) has been installed, in accordance with the requirements of MARPOL Annex VI.

Particular emphasis has also been placed on the quality of life of the crew, with modern living spaces and ergonomic design. The ship is contracted by Fan Hongwei, while the delivery ceremony took place in China with the participation of executives from Capital and Hengli.
