Ημερομηνία: 01-04-2026

THEON International inaugurated its subsidiary, THEON Belgium, headquartered in Zaventem, in the presence of Belgian Minister of Defence Theo Francken, marking a significant step in THEON’s European expansion and enhancing its ability to participate in joint European procurement programs.

As highlighted by Christian Hadjiminas, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of THEON, “our investment in Zaventem underscores the benefits of joint European procurement, which strengthens Europe’s operational readiness while creating industrial value across Member States. This is the type of cooperation Europe should pursue more decisively in order to reinforce both its defence preparedness and its industrial base.”

Production

The new facility will manufacture the IRIS-C thermal clip-on system for the Belgian and German Armed Forces within the pan-European OCCAR IRCOD framework agreement, signed in September 2025. The initial order amounts to approximately 50 million euros, with embedded options of around 150 million euros, primarily covering deliveries in 2026–2027. THEON expects all options to be exercised.

Belgian Minister of Defence Theo Francken noted that “THEON’s investment represents a significant addition to Belgium’s defence industrial base. By establishing local production capability for the IRIS-C in Belgium, the facility leverages domestic expertise, strengthens the resilience of the European supply chain, and contributes to closer defence cooperation across Europe.”

Partnership Agreements

Following the establishment of THEON Belgium, THEON has entered into cooperation agreements with leading Belgian manufacturers in the fields of electro-optics, metal fabrication, and electronics.
