Passenger traffic exceeds 37 million passengers in 14 regional airports

More than 37 million passengers were welcomed by the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece in 2025, recording a 3% increase compared to 2024.

Passenger traffic in December 2025 and the entire year confirm the steady upward trend of the 14 regional airports and their long-term contribution to strengthening Greek tourism and the national economy. The increased passenger traffic throughout the year further strengthens Greece’s position as an attractive and competitive tourist destination, contributing substantially to supporting local communities and tourism activity across the country.

9.4% increase in December

In December 2025, the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece welcomed more than 881,000 passengers, recording an increase of 9.4% compared to the corresponding month of 2024. This performance confirms the continued increase in passenger traffic, even during the winter season. The positive picture of December reflects the overall course of 2025, a year in which Fraport Greece welcomed more than 37 million passengers, recording an increase of 3% compared to 2024.

More specifically, the number of domestic flights increased by 1.1% (86,971), while international flights recorded an increase of 3.2% (196,382). Overall, flight traffic (domestic and international) increased by 2.5%, reflecting the stable demand for air travel to and from Greek destinations. The positive picture of passenger traffic in 2025 is also reflected in individual destinations, which recorded particularly strong performance on an annual basis.
