Passenger traffic up 4.9% in 2025

Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by the Hellenic Aviation Authority increased by 6.9% during the period January-December 2025, compared to the corresponding period in 2024.

Αccording to the statistics, the total number of passengers (arrivals and departures of international and domestic passengers) in the 12-month period of 2025 in Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupoli, Limnos, Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastelorizo, Kasos, Leros, Sitia amounted to 12,824,813 passengers, compared to 12,001,679 passengers in the corresponding period in 2024.

Overall, for the country’s 39 airports (24 CAA, 14 Fraport Greece, AIA), a 4.9% increase in passenger traffic and 4.1% in aircraft movement were recorded in January-December 2025.

Passenger traffic reached 83,333,571 in January-December 2025, compared to 79,424,082 passengers in the corresponding period of 2024.

Flights at the 39 airports

Regarding the number of aircraft movements (arrivals and departures of domestic and international aircraft) at all 39 airports in the country, whose air traffic control is mainly exercised by the Hellenic Aviation Authority, there was an increase of 4.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2024, as 629,633 flights were carried out, compared to 604,873 in 2024.
