Piraeus businesses showcase their international presence at SMM in Hamburg
Businesses that are members of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) are making a strong international impact at the 32nd SMM International Maritime Trade Fair in Hamburg, which concludes on Friday, 4 September 2026.
At the leading global event for the maritime industry and technology, PCCI has provided dedicated exhibition space for 11 member companies, which have been holding key B2B meetings throughout the week and forging international partnerships. The participants are Skaramangas Shipyards, the Hellenic Shipyards Association, Onex Group, Katrafis Group, Golden Cargo S.A., S. Korkidis Bros, Shelectro, SeaCrest Solutions, Triad Ltd, Mavrikos Imports S.A. and the Panhellenic Association of Ship Suppliers and Exporters.
The PCCI stand was visited by Dr Christoph Ploß, Federal Government Coordinator for the Maritime Economy and Tourism, and Demokritos Tatanis, president of the Hellenic Maritime Club of Hamburg. Through this coordinated initiative, businesses from the wider Piraeus region had the opportunity to showcase a broad range of products and services related to maritime and other activities.
“The strong presence of Piraeus businesses at the international SMM maritime trade fair confirms Piraeus’ leading role in the global shipping industry. Companies in our maritime hub are showcasing their expertise, innovation and modern services, highlighting the competitiveness and international outlook of the Greek maritime community,” said PCCI President Vassilis Korkidis.
“Participation in SMM represents an important opportunity to develop new partnerships, exchange knowledge and promote innovative solutions that address the challenges of the maritime industry’s green and digital transition,” he added, stressing the “international promotion of Piraeus as a leading maritime, business and technology hub” and the “further strengthening of Greece’s position on the global maritime map”.
