Skroutz records 30% increase in orders and 11% rise in sales during summer sales
Skroutz recorded a 30% increase in orders and an 11% rise in sales during this year’s summer sales, compared with the corresponding period last year.
The average consumer spent around €63 per order, keeping the average basket at the same level as last year, while average total spending throughout the sales period increased by 8% to €150.
The days with the highest number of orders were the first and last days of the sales period: Monday, 13 July and Monday, 31 August, respectively.
Top-performing categories
This year, consumers again chose to spend more on products in the “Technology”, “Fashion” and “Health & Beauty” categories, while the highest shares of discounted purchases were recorded in “Fashion” (32%), “Technology” (15%) and “Home & Décor” (12%).
At the same time, the “Books” category recorded a striking 71% increase in sales of discounted products compared with the corresponding period last year, followed by “Auto & Moto” (47%) and “Pets” (33%).
The average discount stood at around 12%, broadly in line with last year. The categories with the highest average discounts were “Fashion” (16%), “Books” (14%) and “Kids & Baby” (12%).
