SKY express reports broad-based growth in Q2 2026

SKY express reported growth in the second quarter of 2026, driven by strong international demand and an expanded route network.

According to the airline, international passenger traffic rose 29.7% in April-June, while scheduled flight revenue increased 16.7% compared with the same quarter of 2025.

Total passenger traffic, excluding Public Service Obligation (PSO) flights, climbed 12.3%, while the total number of flights increased 8.6% year-on-year.

The airline said the performance reflects its strategy of attracting travelers from new international markets through an expanded network of partnerships and a stronger presence in key destinations.

SKY express currently serves 27 international destinations, with additional routes expected to be announced in the coming months.

More flights despite fuel cost pressures

The total number of flights, excluding PSO services, increased 8.6%, supported by higher frequencies on existing routes.

The expansion came despite higher global fuel prices linked to geopolitical tensions. SKY express said it has continued to absorb the additional energy costs rather than passing them on to passengers, keeping ticket prices unchanged.

Commenting on the results, Chief Commercial Officer Gerasimos Skaltsas said the second quarter was marked by significant challenges for the aviation industry, including heightened geopolitical uncertainty and pressure on operating costs.

“Against this backdrop, SKY express delivered strong growth across all key performance indicators, confirming the strength and consistency of our strategy,” Skaltsas said.

He added that the results reflect the company’s continued investment and disciplined execution, while the sharp increase in international passenger traffic demonstrates that SKY express is becoming the preferred choice for a growing number of overseas travelers visiting Greece.

“We remain committed to further strengthening SKY express’s market position and creating greater value for our passengers,” he said.
