Thrace Plastics acquires BHA Holdings

Thrace Plastics Group has announced the acquisition of 100% of BHA Holdings Pty Ltd (Bulk Handling Australia), a company with a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand.

Through its subsidiaries in Australia and New Zealand, BHA Holdings has over 40 years of experience in local markets, serving the packaging needs of key sectors such as agriculture, mining, chemicals, and food. The acquisition is of particular strategic importance for Thrace Plastics Group, as it concerns a company active in the bulk bags (FIBC) segment, where the Group already holds a strong position in the European market, with a local presence in Ireland, Scandinavia, and Greece.

The integration of BHA Holdings into the Group is expected to generate significant synergies with its existing product portfolio and commercial operations, while further enhancing its ability to offer more comprehensive solutions in local markets. Through this transaction, the Group further strengthens its already robust position in the bulk bags sector. This move represents not only a geographic expansion, but also a targeted investment that reinforces the Group’s production, commercial, and product footprint.

The agreement is expected to serve as a springboard for further sales growth, both for BHA’s existing operations and for the Group’s broader product portfolio in the Australian and New Zealand markets. In addition, the counter-seasonality of these markets compared to Europe creates favorable conditions for strengthening commercial activity and optimizing the utilization of the Group’s production base on a year-round basis.
