AEGEAN is launching a new direct service between Athens and Damascus, adding another Middle Eastern country to its international network.
Flights to Syria’s Damascus International Airport will begin on December 2, 2026, and will operate up to four times a week during the winter schedule, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Meanwhile, from October 23, 2026, AEGEAN will resume direct flights from Athens to Dubai.
“AEGEAN continues to invest strategically in the development of its network, further strengthening both Greece’s connectivity and Athens’ role as an aviation hub,” the company said in a statement.
At the same time, the airline is exploring further expansion of its network in North Africa.
The addition of Libya to its network, with direct services to Tripoli and Benghazi, is scheduled to begin in May 2027, subject to the completion of the required assessments and procedures.
