Greek unmanned aerial systems (UAS) developer and manufacturer ALTUS-LSA has signed a memorandum of understanding with S. CARFIL S.A., a subsidiary of Romania’s state-owned defence company C.N. ROMARM S.A., laying the foundations for strategic cooperation in unmanned systems, counter-drone systems and the defence industry.
The partnership combines ALTUS-LSA’s expertise in developing and integrating advanced unmanned platforms and counter-drone systems with CARFIL’s know-how in ammunition production and its capabilities in testing and providing industrial support for defence systems.
As ALTUS-LSA CEO Zacharias Sarris said, “Cooperation with S. CARFIL S.A. marks an important step towards establishing a strong Greek-Romanian partnership in the defence sector. By combining ALTUS’s technological expertise with CARFIL’s industrial capabilities and experience, we aim to develop solutions that enhance the operational readiness and interoperability of the armed forces, while also creating opportunities for a joint presence in allied and international markets.”
Under the agreement, S. CARFIL S.A. will supply ammunition for ALTUS-LSA’s counter-drone systems, while the two companies will explore opportunities to exchange know-how, laying the groundwork for the joint industrial development of ALTUS’s heavy-payload platforms and counter-drone systems in Romania. CARFIL’s facilities will also be used to test, evaluate and demonstrate advanced unmanned solutions.
The two sides will additionally explore opportunities for cooperation in research, training, technical support and the promotion of defence solutions in Greece, Romania and selected international markets.
On his part, S. CARFIL S.A. General Manager Mircea Petru Tantau said: “For S.
